offener ruf nach klangkunst
Wird ja langsam schon zur Tradition, auf einen Ruf noch einen weiteren folgen zu lassen. Im gestern weitergegebenen waren bzw. sind Videos gefragt, heute hingegen kommt gerechter Weise nun auch die Klangkunst zum Zuge.
Zudem dürfen in diesem Fall die ProduzentInnen unabhängig von ihrer lokalen Verwurzelung einreichen - tatsächlich handelt es sich um einen rundum offenen Ruf.
Er kommt von folly, einer in Lancashire, Cumbria (also Grossbritannien) angesiedelten, aber auch im Netz ziemlich aktiven Organisation für digitale Künste, die für diesen Herbst ebenfalls ein entprechendes Festival vorbereitet: VELOCITY:
"VELOCITY is an extraordinary 3 week long festival of digital art and culture that will stretch from Barrow to Lancaster around Morecambe Bay. And it’s all free.
VELOCITY’s artworks, performances, games, podcasts, films, workshops and art installations will follow the coastline, showing you this beautiful and sublime setting in a new, creative light."
In diesem Rahmen soll nun auch die Klangkunst eine Plattform bekommen - und zwar eben nicht nur vor Ort, sondern auch online. Und zu diesem Behufe wurde der "ArtCast: open call for sound art" ausgegeben, den wir hier der Bequemlichkeit halber einfach mal auszugsweise im O-Ton weiterreichen wollen:
"folly, a leading digital arts organisation working in Lancashire, Cumbria and online, is developing ArtCast, an ongoing series of podcasting programmes at a href="www.folly.co.uk" target="_blank">www.folly.co.uk, as a platform for public access to new and innovative sound art. Building on the success of OWN [SOUND] ART (2007) at www.folly.co.uk/soundnetwork, a series of podcasts specially commissioned in partnership with SoundNetwork, folly intends to deliver a quarterly series of podcasts exploring the possibilities of the medium, and will launch the first in this series as part of VELOCITY, folly's second Festival of Digital Culture. [...] folly is calling for open submissions of existing audio work, from the broad spectrum of contemporary sound art practice. Submissions should address themes and subjects broadly relating to the ethos of VELOCITY, including but not limited to: travel, movement, landscape, engagement with communities, rural sustainability."
